Project aims:
The main idea is to exchange waste heat between railway sites and nearby industrial or residential areas, thereby saving energy.

A pilot is being developed and tested at the moment near to Rotterdam. vehicle(s)

Description:

The idea is to stablish a pipe connection to the local vicinity in order to reuse waste heat from NedTrain workshops in local district heating systems for the benefit of domenstic and industrial users.

 

Energy efficiency gains:

The energy efficiency data is not yet available since the project is still under investigation. Further data is to be expected due to planned new implementations in the coming years.
